Gautami, who is making a comeback to the silverscreen in Kamal Haasan’s Papanasam, shares her working experience with Kamal and calls him a great team player. “As an actor, he is fantastic to have around. He is a great team player. You can see that his commitment is the same regardless of whether he is directing or acting. He also has the rare quality of getting everybody to give their best. I have always believed that my performances have stood out when acting with him,” says Gautami to a daily.
Directed by Jeethu Joseph, Papanasam marks the coming together of Kamal Haasan and Gautami on screen, who have earlier delivered blockbuster hits like Apoorva Sagotharargal and Thevar Magan, after nearly two decades. “Believe it or not, I haven’t seen the original Malayalam Drishyam yet. I wanted to bring a new flavour to my role. I also enjoy the idea of remakes a lot. The beauty is that the makers are able to eliminate the imperfections of the original,” adds Gauthami.
Gautami also confirms that this is not a one-off film and she will continue acting more films in future.
