Kamal Haasan and Resul Pookutty inaugurate Lissy Lakshmi Dubbing Studios
Kamal Haasan and Oscar award-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty inaugurated the Lissy Lakshmi Dubbing Studios in Nungambakkam. It’s a unique recording facility designed by Resul himself.
The studio is the latest venture by businesswoman and actress Lissy Lakshmi who has added a new and exciting facet to her business house Le Magic Lantern Preview Theatre through this novel initiative. It is the first ever such recording capability planned by Resul Pookutty.
Speaking at the occasion, Lissy said it has been a great honor working with Resul. “Without his help and advice, this would not have happened. The biggest challenge in building a dubbing studio of international standards was getting the latest technology, latest equipment, and the best acoustics. The significant cost factor involved in these three aspects are the reasons why most people shy away from investing in a state-of-the-art dubbing studio. What you see here today reflects research, consultation and hard work of more than a year,” said Lissy.
“To commemorate the inaugural, Resul and team will record famous dialogues of Kamal Haasan, Mohan, Sarathkumar, Radhika, Sree Priya, Suhasini, Kushbu, Shobhana, Revathi and other stars at the studio. A short film on this exercise will be made and the revenue generated will go to the education of orphan girls in Chennai,” Lissy said.
