Kadaikutty Singam Songs Review
Review Overview
Sandakaari
Kaalai Theme
Thandora Kannala
Vaa Jikki
Sengathire
Impressive, relatable tunes from Imman!
Kadaikutty Singam is possibly the most complete soundtrack from D.Imman over the last calendar year. It definitely does look like the composer has put in the extra effort to come up with the perfect proportion of songs, there doesn’t seem to be a single track that you can wash away. If this continues with consistency, there’s almost no one to take him on.
Cast: Karthi, Sayyeshaa, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Sathyaraj
Music: D. Imman
Direction: Pandiraj
Producer: Suriya
Label: Sony Music
Sandakaari: Singers – Imman, Vandana Srinivasan
Though this is a tune dipped wholly in Imman’s earlier sauces, it has some interesting turns like the ones it takes in its interludes. The simplicity is what makes it easy to connect to, and Vandana Srinivasan aces her part comfortably. Our PICK.
Kaalai Theme: Singers – Nivas, Sai, Narayanan, Vignesh
Blowing trumpets to glory, Imman constructs a rousing theme track for the film that clicks instantly. Used in the teaser as well, this will be a valuable addition to the action in the film. Gooseflesh can go haywire here. Our PICK.
Thandora Kannala: Singer – VV Prasanna
A sweet little romantic track that is minimalistic in its organization, yet soothing enough on the ears. VV Prasanna has a knack of picking the right songs, and there’s no difference here. Not too unique, but works somehow.
Vaa Jikki: Singer – Imman
Pumping energy all the way, Vaa Jikki is a highly energetic song that will make you hit the repeat button sooner. Imman takes complete control of the track, owning the music and the vocals. The lyrics pay a tribute to the farmers and their livelihood, but the best part of the song is the slightest of variations that Imman keeps stacking up until the end. Our final PICK.
Sengathire: Singer – Pradeep Kumar
Pathos comes in the form of Sengathire, a slow-go track. Will be used in the emotional, sad portions of the film ostensibly. Pradeep Kumar is mostly the go-to man for such songs, and that becomes a right choice in a song that suffers from deja-vu orchestrations.
