Janta Curfew: Twitter India takes down Rajnikanth’s video for violation of rules
Superstar Rajinikanth’s video intended to create awareness of Janta Curfew to show solidarity with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was taken down by Twitter India on Saturday night for violation of rules, citing it was spreading misinformation.
Thank you, Twitter, for acting in time, for once, *at least*. @rajinikanth was using unverified, unsubstantiated WhatsApp nonsense to make his well-intentioned request that would give false hope to people that the virus would be dead by Sunday evening. pic.twitter.com/PkEBeliieM

“Right now, India is in the second stage of battling the coronavirus and we can’t let it go to the next level. If we can prevent the spread of the COVD-19 in public spaces for 12 to 14 hours, that itself is enough to stop it from progressing to the third stage,” said Rajinikanth.
Today, Indians are gearing up for a self-curfew from 7 am to 9 pm as requested by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
