It was a hair-raising moment when Mani sir told me I’m playing Ponniyin Selvan: Jayam Ravi

At the grand teaser launch of Ponniyin Selvan yesterday, actor Jayam Ravi spoke about the experience of coming onboard the film, and the incidents that led to his entry. The actor said that Mani Ratnam had called him over for a casual meeting at his office, and had told him that Jayam Ravi will be playing Arulmozhi Varman in the film.

Jayam Ravi said that it was truly a goosebump moment for him, when he heard those words from Mani Ratnam. The actor plays the titular role in Ponniyin Selvan, and will be an integral part of both the parts of the film.
