Is Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam inspired from real life events?

After reports that Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam has been inspired from real life events, director Geetanjali Selvaraghavan, who makes her debut with the film, has denied it. “No, it is not based on our lives. Selvaraghavan had written only one part of the script. The rest was a joint effort of both of us,” she clarified.

Written by Selvaraghavan, Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam features Balakrishna Kola and Wammiqa Gabbi in the lead roles. The film, produced by ace editor Kola Baskar, is set for release on January 1st.
