The press meet of Sundar C’s upcoming horror drama Iruttu took place in Chennai yesterday, with the core members of the team meeting the press and media, speaking about the film.
Important team members like sound designer Rahmathullah, music composer Girish and cinematographer Kicha spoke about how the music and visuals of the film are important in the narration.
VZ Dhorai, who made memorable films in the past such as Mugavari, Thotti Jaya and Nepali spoke about the birth of the film, saying “I never used to watch or follow horror films until I met Sundar C sir as a friend. He was the one who suggested me to watch the films of James Wan and come back to do this film. He gave me confidence, saying that my entrance to the genre would bring in a fresh perspective. Here in this film, there is an interesting element in the form of the Islamic angle that we bring in. It is a fresh concept to Tamil audiences.”
On the other hand, Sundar C spoke up saying, “Iruttu is a film that I cannot do in my own direction. I was skeptical on doing films as an actor for outdoor relationships, as I had misunderstandings earlier. I wanted to do a technically sound horror film, and thanks to VTV Ganesh, things fell in place.
Writer Soundarrajan, who wrote the legendary Tamil TV serial in Marmadesam, has worked on the screenplay of Iruttu.
