Indian film industry mourns the demise of Puratchi Thalaivi Jayalalitha

Ilayathalapathy Vijay paid his final respects to Puratchi Thalaivi Amma Jayalalitha at Rajaji Hall, where her mortal remains have been kept for public viewing. Industry’s leading personalities including Suriya and Rajinikanth have expressed their deepest condolences to the ex-CM.

Ajith Kumar, who is currently shooting in Bulgaria, has sent an official statement expressing his heartfelt sympathies. “I express my deepest condolences to my fellow citizens of Tamil Nadu and to the cadres of AIADMK on the demise of our beloved leader Honourable Dr.Puratchi Thalaivi Amma. She had fought many battles and stood tall among the leaders of our times. This news comes as a shock to me as we were praying for and hopeful of her speedy recovery. May her soul rest in peace. I pray to the almighty to give as the strength during this time of grief.”

Rajinikanth took to his microblogging page and called her India’s brave daughter. He tweeted, “India lost her brave daughter. I pray to god to rest CM’s soul in peace”.

Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan tweeted, “Sad to hear of the passing away of Jayalalithaaji…May her soul rest in peace”.

Suriya, who is currently shooting in Hyderabad, took to Twitter and said, “Rest in peace madam, one of our most charismatic, bold and brave leader in Indian political history ever!! You have left behind a great legacy..!! You will always be remembered and edged in our hearts forever.”
