The Tamil Film Producers’ Council has decided to go on an indefinite strike from May 30th if their demands to the state and central government on piracy eradication measures and hike in the ticket price are not met.
Vishal, president of TFPC, has requested the state to curb piracy with the help of cyber crime department and internet service providers. Sources say theater owners association and exhibitors federation have given their full consent to cooperate with TFPC and no new movie releases will happen from June if the strike begins.
