Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja turns actor for Director Selva

Music directors becoming actors is the latest fad in Tamil cinema. Composer GV Prakash is currently shooting his first film as an actor in Pencil starring opposite SriDivya and Harris Jayaraj has recently acted in a commercial directed by cinematographer Ravi K Chandran. Now, it’s Ilaiyaraaja’s turn. Naadi Thudikkuthadi, directed by Naan Avan Illai fame Selva has debutant Subin and Archana, who earlier acted in Summa Nachunu Irukku in the lead roles.

The music for the film is composed by Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja. “The film is close to my heart as legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja has acted in a song and composed the music for the film,” says Archana. The film is slated for a release in May. Director Selva’s last two film Naanga and Naan Avan Illa 2 were commercial pot-boilers. We hope the director finds the much-needed break with his Naadi Thudikkuthadi.
