Reunion of Legends: Ilaiyaraja to sing Vairamuthu’s lyrics after 28 years

It’s the most surreal news of the day. Yes. After 28 years, maestro Isaignani Ilaiyaraja and lyricist Vairamuthu are coming together for a song. It was Adi Aathadi song in Bharathiraja’s Kadalora Kavithaigal when the two legends collaborated for the last time in 1986. Now, they are coming together for a Amma sentiment song in Seenu Ramasamy’s Idam Porul Eval, which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

“After 28 years, Raaja sir has agreed to sing the lyrics of Kaviperarasu. When I requested Raaja sir, he agreed mainly because I’m also a devotee of Ramana Maharishi, whom he follows. I should also thank Yuvan for making this possible,” reveals Seenu Ramasamy to a daily. Produced by Lingsamy’s Thirupathi Brothers, Idam Porul Eval has Vijay Sethupathi, Vishnu, Nandita and Iyshwarya Rajesh in lead roles.
