“I was surprised by the level of confidence director Shakti Rajan had in me”

Nivetha Pethuraj who plays an important role in Jayam Ravi’s Tik Tik Tik said the confidence director Shakti Rajan had in her pushed her to perform better.

“Shakti sir and I had a very brief meet of just five minutes, and I was onboard for Tik Tik Tik. I was surprised by the level of confidence he had in me, and I decided to give my best in every shot. I promptly agreed as this is a Sci-Fi film. But my wariness before we went on floors was high, and I started watching all the space films and Nolan’s films. I watched the making because with a green mat imagining things that are not actually around you and to act is not easy. But the moment I entered the sets all my pangs of conscience were nowhere; it was like I am entering a space station,” she said.

“I was asking everyone I know about the art director, and it took some time to have a proper conversation as he was always on the hop. Though the film was physically demanding the crew still kept their cool, and it was one big reason things were easy. The harness was heavy; we couldn’t have a proper meal, the stunts and amidst everything Ramesh Thilak, Arjun and Vincent made it light with their wits,” said Nivetha at the film’s audio launch.

Talking about Jayam Ravi’s six-year-old son who is making his acting debut in the film, Nivetha said, “Aarav will always be on the sets; he won’t spend time in the caravan. He will have the same spirit and bubble with enthusiasm for every take and scene.”

Tik Tik Tik marks composer Imman’s 100th movie and is all set to hit screens worldwide on January 26th for the Republic Day weekend.
