Speaking at the audio launch of Velaikkaran, Sivakarthikeyan said, “Today, I take a vow to not act in any advertisements in future. I know I have done one advertisement but I’ll never do it again. I’ve clearly understood the unfortunate repercussions that a brand endorsement could create by acting in Velaikkaran, thanks to director Mohan Raja. There’s a particular scene in the film, which has a significant connection to why I’ve decided so. I can’t reveal it now, but after watching the movie, you all will understand.”
Talking about his long-standing relationship with composer Anirudh Ravichander, who has delivered extraordinary in his films, Siva said, “On Twitter, I’ve seen several memes saying that my career is nothing without Anirudh’s music. Every time I see those remarks, I used to nod myself in complete agreement. I have done eleven films so far including my brief role in 3 and Anirudh has composed music for five films. So, I have given half of my cinema life to Anirudh literally. He has played an important role in the growth of my career.”
Director Mohan Raja sounded very confident about the film, which is currently on the verge of post-production. Produced by RD Raja’s 24 AM Studios, Velaikkaran features Nayanthara, who was conspicuous by her absence at the event, as the lead heroine. The film, which is likely to hit screens on December 22nd for the Christmas weekend, also marks the Tamil debut of Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil who plays the role of Aadhi.
