I requested Mahendran sir to dub for Akshay Kumar in 2.0, reveals Shankar

Director Shankar has revealed that he requested veteran director Mahendran to dub for Akshay Kumar for his magnum-opus 2.0. Mahendran had reportedly obliged but Shankar could not use the voice for the role.

Kamal Haasan also said that he was supposed to do Mullum Malarum, before Rajinikanth was finalized for the lead role in the film. Rajinikanth said it was Mahendran who brought the other side of Rajinikanth (the actor).

The entire film fraternity paid rich tributes to the filmmaker, who is best known for his works such as Nenjathai Killathey, Mullum Malarum, and Johnny to name a few.
