“I had to produce Ivan Thanthiran when someone backed off at the last moment”
Director Kannan’s heart-wrenching voice note went viral and earned a lot of sympathy from both audiences and film fraternity few days back when the theater strike was announced and his Ivan Thanthiran got mired in the crossfire.
Speaking at the press meet to request audiences to watch the film now in theaters, Kannan said, “My WhatsApp audio is not the agony of a single person but an ordeal all the directors and producers face. It took two years for this film to eventuate. I had to produce the film when a producer backed off at the last moment. Thanks for all those who stood by me during this time of distress.”
It is worth mentioning here that, Ivan Thanthiran was appreciated both critically and audience alike. The movie hits back the big screens from today in TN post the Theater Strike call off.
