Hollywood writers on board Nayanthara’s Kolaiyuthir Kaalam

We had earlier reported that Nayanthara’s Kolaiyuthur Kaalam directed by Chaktri Toleti of Billa 2 and Unnai Pol Oruvan fame is based on the Hollywood horror thriller Hush directed by Mike Flanagan. However, a section of media went overboard and claimed that Kolaiyuthur Kaalam will be a remake of Hush. Now, Chakri Toleti has trashed the remake reports and clarifies that Nayanthara’s character (Deaf and Mute) is inspired from one of the characters in Hush.

The film, which marks Yuvan Shankar Raja’s debut as producer under his newly-floated banner YSR Films, is co-produced by Vashu Bhagnani of Pooja Films. Chakri Toleti has also confirmed that Hollywood writers Adam Hiebeler and Carl Lauricella have penned the film’s script. The movie is also not an adaptation of late writer Sujatha’s novel of the same title.
