Hara Hara Mahadevaki is an enjoyable adult comedy, which manages to put a smile on the face of audiences more often than not. Debutant Santhosh Jayakumar has delivered exactly what his target audiences, the teenagers, would love – an unadulterated comedy where double entendres galore.
The film revolves around the story of interchanged bags and thrives on the ‘comedy of errors,’ sometimes more than what the writer could chew. The screenplay is written in such a way that the sequence of events happens in a single day.
The ensemble supporting cast assembled by Santhosh Jayakumar is the real strength of the film. While Ravi Maria as an aspiring chief minister and his subordinate Namo Narayana make a great pair and leave us in splits, Karunakaran and Motta Rajendran as Kumaaru and Spike bring the roof down with their effortless antics and highly enjoyable dialogue delivery.
Gautham Karthik and Nikki Galrani’s break-up portion and the events that led to it are narrated engagingly and peppered with light-hearted comedy, until the fag end of the film where there’s a rip-roaring episode that involves the leads along with comedian Sathish. The cat-and-mouse game involving the ensemble cast revives the film that falters mildly post interval.
Overall, Hara Hara Mahadevaki is a hilarious adult comedy that will indeed satisfy all its target audiences like how Trisha Illana Nayanthara did two years ago.
