Akshara Haasan, who will be making her debut in Kollywood with Ajith’s Vivegam, has opened up about nepotism, the hotshot topic in Bollywood.
“Nepotism happens in every field. I choose not to be part of it. And, everyone experiences it. I can go through it. Tomorrow, a non-filmy candidate will also go through it. If you are put down, it makes you tough. That patience, that fire in the belly will make you tough. ‘Haasan’ is a name my dad has earned for himself. I cannot misuse it. It’s not mine to explore it. It’s for me only to take forward carefully and delicately. I will use my first name and explore it rather than my last name,” said Akshara in an interaction.
“I didn’t have any pressure to live up to the expectations of my surname. But I was careful that I should not spoil the legacy of my family. So, I always think twice, and then I do,” she added.
Vivegam is set for worldwide release on August 24th.
