Starting fan clubs looks like the latest fad in Tamil cinema. After much deliberation, Isaignani Ilaiyaraja gave a green signal to start fan clubs under his name officially. Now, it’s birthday boy GV Prakash’s turn to grab the limelight. The composer turned actor has officially inaugurated his first fan club for the Chennai district today. Fans celebrated the composer’s birthday with a huge 10 KG cake and exchanged souvenirs to make this day memorable. They already began their social activities by offering gifts to ‘Kaakkum karangal’, a home for destitute children, and Asha Nivas boys shelter home today.
GV Prakash on commencing fan club
My fans are mostly youth. They are spread through Twitter, Face book and for that matter in all social forums. I wanted to assemble all of them in a single umbrella. Hence this fan club is started. One cannot deny the fact that the force of Youth is the fulcrum of our nation’s growth. Tamil audience had given me a huge recognition in terms of name and fame.It is the time for me to repay the love. Fan clubs are viewed in a negative manner here , many constructive, development oriented social welfare themes can be organized with the help of the young minds who look upon you. Fan clubs of Kamal sir, Vijay sir and Surya sir are the classic examples for the same. I desire to travel the same path as they do.
