Gouthami to play Kamal Haasan’s wife in Drishyam remake
After a lot of hide and seek, it’s been confirmed that Gouthami will play Kamal Haasan’s wife in Drishyam Tamil remake. Kalabhavan Mani is also the latest to join the crew. The film is tentatively titled Papanasam. Directed by Jeethu Joseph – who also helmed the original – the story is set in the backdrop of Papanasam in Tirunelveli and Kamal Haasan has already started mastering the Nellai dialect.
While Kalabhavan Mani will reprise the constable role of Kalabhavan Shajon in the original, Asha Sharath, who played the IPS officer character in the original, has been retained for Papanasam too. Niveda Thomas of Jilla and Naveena Saraswathi Sabatham fame will play Kamal Haasan’s daughter. Produced by Wide Angle Creations and Raj Kumar Theaters Pvt. Ltd, it has music by Ghibran.
