After being subjected to mental stress for the past one month for the superfluous protests held against the release of Komban, KE Gnanevalraja of Studio Green is contemplating to file defamation suit against political leader Krishnaswamy who spearheaded the namesake drama.
The film is running well and has raked in a revenue of 20 crores in five days. Krishnswamy has alleged that Komban will incite caste war in the southern districts of Tamil Nadu like Madurai and Ramanathapuram. But the film has not received any such response from people residing in those districts clearly signalling a foul play in Krishnaswamy’s mistrusted action on the eve of release. Gnanavelraja is also mulling over filing a separate petition for the financial losses incurred for the special screening organized to retired judges of High Court who examined the film. He is said to have spent an amount of 15 lakhs in total for the screening.
This should set a precedence to letterhead parties and political outfits who threaten to endanger the creative freedom of film technicians.
