Gautham Menon wants to name Thala 55 as ‘Distinguished Gentleman’

As the title for Thala 55 is gravely anticipated with bated breath, Gautham Menon, known for his nonchalant use of English in dialogues in his films, has revealed that he would call the film Distinguished Gentleman if he had to title it in English. “The story traces the journey of a man between the age of 12 and 38. The boy has everything, growing up, and then suddenly it’s all taken away. What happens to him? The film, a drama, is made on a budget of around Rs. 50 crore and is the biggest of my career so far,” says Gautham Menon in an interview to a daily.

Gautham has also disclosed that there were few moments in the film where he would write dialogues to spice up the proceedings and play to the gallery, but Ajith would remind him that it’s a Gautham film and there’s no neccessity to up the ante for the sake of him. “He plays a dynamic character called Satyadev. His on-screen persona is quite different from his other films and he has four different looks too,” says Gautham about Ajith’s character in the film.
