The final round of talks between producers of all four southern film industries and DSPs in Bengaluru failed yesterday. Now, a decision has been taken to down the shutters from March 1st.
For a 2 crore budget film #Aruvi we have paid 50lakhs as vpf. It could have been only 15 lakhs. Out of 2.2 crore vpf we paid for 4 films in 2017, Someone ate around 1.5cr of ours. We could have made one more film with that saving!!

While Jayendra from Qube said that they made an offer to reduce the VPF cost from Rs. 22, 500 to Rs. 14,000 and the producers turned down the same, Prabhu SR said they didn’t reduce the price anywhere below Rs. 20,000.
That’s not true. The offer was 20k instead of 22k from them. Film industry can’t get hit for someone’s false business model. https://t.co/XmlKZB6myD

Qube offers multiple price options in Bangalore meeting between Producers and Digital Service Providers including dramatic price reduction from 22,500 to 14,000 rupees. All offers turned down.

Producers will not send any new content to DSPs from March 2nd. All the new films scheduled for the month of March have been put on hold for now.
