“Every decision Gnanavel made regarding my career has always been crucial,” says Suriya
Speaking at the success meet of Thaanaa Serndha Koottam, Suriya said, “Gnanavel was the one who initiated this project. Every decision he has made regarding my career has always been crucial. If I’ve received a different image in my 35th film with Vignesh Shivan, Gnanavel is also an important reason.”
Vignesh Shivan lauded Suriya’s commitment and dedication towards performing a role and preparing for the same. He also heaped praise on Baahubali actress Ramya Krishnan. “Working with Ramya Krishnan ma’am was a memorable experience. She had so much to offer every day. The ease of getting things from her while working on various sequences was superlative,” he said.
Talking about producer Gnanavel, Vignesh Shivan said, “There were a lot of pre-release issues. We were not sure about the film’s release at all. But Gnanavel sir solved everything including some last minute legal hassles and released the film on time.”
Vignesh also revealed how they converted Special 26, which had no songs, to Thaanaa Serndha Koottam with five songs. “When I told Anirudh that we’re working on adapting Special 26, he was a little disappointed since there were no songs in the original. Then I said to him that we would do something to include songs in our version. Earlier, we had placed the Sodakku track in the second half. Later, it transformed as the introduction song. We started working and brought each song to the story on the go,” said Vignesh.
