Dhanush to star in the Hindi remake of Velai Illa Pattathari?

One of the blockbusters of this year, Dhanush’s Velai Illa Pattathari, is all set to be remade in Bollywood. Dhanush became a well-known figure in Bollywood post Raanjhanaa’s success at the box-office. He joined the elite 100-crore club with Raanjhanaa where he co-starred with Sonam Kapoor and bagged his next film in Hindi ,R. Balki’s Shamitabh. Now, he is on the brink of completing Shamitabh where he shares screen space with Amitabh Bachchan and Akshara Haasan, who makes her debut as a female lead.

Sources say Dhanush will produce the film under his homebanner Wunderbar Films and play the lead role himself. Velraj, who called the shots for original, is likely to don the director-cinematographer hat in Hindi too. The female lead is likely to be a Bollywood girl and Dhanush is planning to kickstart the film around June next year, says a source in the know.
