“Wish I had won a Filmfare award for Pudhupettai,” says Dhanush
The 61st Idea Filmfare Awards South will be held on July 12th at the Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai. Nearly 607 movies made in all four South Indian languages will compete across 21 categories in the 61st edition. It is expected to be a star-studded affair and who’s who of the four industries will grace the occasion.
In a recent press conference held in Chennai, national award winning actor Dhanush said, “Like every Indian actor, it was my dream to take the black lady (award) home. I may have started my career in 2002 and done some decent films, but had to wait until ‘Aadukalam’ to win my first award. It was really a great moment though I wish they had given it to me earlier, for films such as Pudhupettai.”
Well said, Dhanush. The cult status of Selvaraghavan’s Pudhupettai is growing manifold even today among film buffs.
