Dhanush bags Best Actor award
Dhanush won the Best Actor in a debut film award in IIFA yesterday for his Hindi film Raanjhanaa directed by Anand L Rai of Tanu weds Manu fame. The film was also dubbed and released in Tamil as Ambikapathi and didn’t receive the rousing reception as its Hindi counterpart. It garnered good acclaim across North and everyone was gung-ho about the performance of Dhanush in the film.
“My first iifa 🙂 thanks for all the support and love guys. Without your support would n have been here,” posted Dhanush on his official Twitter account. His upcoming releases in Tamil include Velaiyilla Pattathari and KV Anand’s Anegan. He’s also acting in a film directed by Balki which also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Akshara Haasan, the younger daughter of Kamal Haasan.
