Magadheera and Sura villain Dev Singh Gill joins Lingaa

Dev Singh Gill won a lot of acclaim for his role as a Pakistani athlete in Rakesh Omprakash Mehra’s bio-pic Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and now it has landed him an offer in Rajinikanth’s Lingaa directed by KS Ravikumar. Lingaa already has Jagapathi Babu who also plays an antagonist in the film. It appears that Dev Gill will come in the pre-independence portions of the film.

Confirming the news, Dev Singh who also played baddie in Vijay’s Sura and SS Rajamouli’s Magadheera says, “Yes, I am a part of Lingaa. I come during the period when Rajini sir sports the pre-independence look. KS Ravikumar has given me a very different kind of role. They were looking for a star who could be on par with Rajini sir for this role. The director wanted someone intense and someone who could carry off the period look.”

The team has completed their first schedule. Editor Samjith recently posted on his social media page that 20% of the shooting is over.
