Dasavatharam is the film that I had put in my maximum effort for: KS Ravikumar
In an Insta Live chat held by actor Arav Nafeez, blockbuster director KS Ravikumar has spoken about how Dasavatharam was the toughest amongst the films that he has worked so far in his career. Ravikumar said that every day on the set was a new experience, with new forms of shoot and camera tricks being put to use.
“We have used loads of green mat to shoot the multiple sequences in the film. All the characters of the film were of different shapes and sizes. Kamal sir wanted to make it as detailed as possible. For example, imagine the grandmother character drinking water from a bottle. As she is extremely short, the bottle will look awkward if placed in the scene with her. Therefore, we even went to extend of creating props that match her size. At the same time, we have had scenes where 3-4 characters would come in a single shot. We had to shoot the car with Balram Naidu first, a separate scene with blue backgrounds for the grandmother and then zoom into the Govind character, who was chasing the car from behind. More than the director, it is tougher for the actor. Only Kamal Haasan can pull this off,” said the director.
