Darbar: AR Murugadoss planned Chandramukhi sequel before the start of this film

Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Darbar is just a few days away from its release worldwide, but looking back at how the film started, it was something that never existed in the first place. In one of his recent interviews, director AR Murugadoss has been heard saying that he had initially planned the sequel of Chandramukhi with the doctor and Vettaiyan characters, but dropped the idea once he understood the practical difficulties of the film, including the transfer of names and the rights.

Darbar is looked at as a film with a strong message on the crimes against women taking place these days. Murugadoss has seemingly packaged the film with loads of his intelligent sequences, and is hoping that the audience connect with him yet another time.
