Confirmed: Bharathan to direct Vijay 60
After listening to a bevy of scripts from various promising film-makers including Karthik Subbaraj, Mohan Raja and SJ Suryah, Ilayathalapathy Vijay has zeroed in on director Bharathan to helm his next project Vijay 60. The movie will be produced by Vijaya Productions whose last film Veeram was a superb success at the box office. We earlier reported about this possible collaboration here.
Vijay is said to have given his nod to Bharathan after being impressed with his racy script. It must be noted that Bharathan co-wrote the dialogues of Ajith’s Veeram along with Siva. Bharathan, before making his directorial debut in Azhagiya Tamizh Magan, penned dialogues for Vijay’s Ghilli. His last film Athithi did not do well at the box office and Vijay 60 marks his third feature. The shooting will kickstart in April, 2016. National award-winning editor Praveen KL, who garnered raves from critics and filmbufss for Madras, is also on board. Cinematographer Madhie of Pandia Naadu and Naan Mahaan Alla fame will wield the camera. Other details about the cast and crew are awaited.
