Cinematographer Murali, who earned appreciations for his fantastic work behind the lens for Pa. Ranjith’s Madras, talks about Kabali and working with Rajinikanth. “Kabali is a different shape of Madras. We have worked keeping in mind the mass factor of Rajini sir and the novelty aspect in the screenplay. Ranjith has weaved riveting action, endearing romance, sentiments and socially conscious elements into the storyline like any Rajini sir film. The screenplay has been structured beautifully. Our entire team is quite happy,” says Murali.
“Rajini sir’s simplicity, dedication and his unrelenting eagerness to learn as a newcomer left everyone in the sets awestruck. It was very inspiring. I used to watch him as an actor when the camera is on and as a human being when it is off,” Murali adds.
Kabali is currently under the final stages of post production with four days of patchwork portions left to be canned. The film’s teaser is expected to be attached to Vijay’s Theri from Tamil New Year.
