Chennai Floods: The Unnoticed Contributions of Tamil Film Stars

Putting all rumors to rest, Only Kollywood has reliably learnt from a bankable source about the unnoticed contributions of few Tamil film stars to the flood-battered victims of Chennai and Cuddalore.

Nayanthara has donated close to Rs. 20 lakhs and sent truck loads of relief material along with her Malayalam co-stars. She also spent an additional amount of Rs. 5 lakhs to contribute to the immediate relief in Chennai to purchase basic commodities,”  tells our source. Nayanthara has also joined hands with Mathrubhumi’s Sahodarikku Sasneham project to deliver kits to 1000 families who are affected by floods.

It must also be noted that many other leading actresses like Hansika and Sridivya have donated Rs. 15 lakhs and Rs. 5 lakhs to the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund and through the Nadigar Sangam respectively. Meanwhile, Samantha and Parvathi Menon contributed through Mana Madras Kosam and Anbodu Kochi initiatives launched by Telugu and Malayalam film stars.

Vijay Sethupathi and his wife chipped in with their contribution of Rs. 10 lakhs and composer Anirudh Ravichander has donated approximately Rs. 15 lakhs to secure flood-hit victims with basic amenities,” the source adds.
