Central Government to honor SPB with Centenary Award at IFFI 2016
The Centenary Award for Indian Film Personality of the Year 2016 will be presented to veteran singer SP Balasubrahmanyam at the 47th International Film Festival of India in Goa later this month, confirmed M Venkaiah Naidu, Minister of Information & Broadcasting, at the press conference yesterday. It must be noted that Rajinikanth and Ilaiyaraja were the recipients of this prestigious honor in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
“SPB is being honoured for his talent. It’s an award not a reward. He has been working in the film industry since past five decades. He has rendered more than 40,000 songs till now.
