Bigil topples Viswasam to become second highest-grossing Tamil film of 2019 worldwide
On its fifth day of theatrical run, Thalapathy Vijay’s Bigil has toppled the lifetime global theatrical revenue of Thala Ajith’s Viswasam (185 crores) to emerge as the second top-grossing Tamil film of 2019, only behind Superstar Rajinikanth’s Petta (220 crores).
Bigil is estimated to have sprinted past the Rs 185 crores worldwide gross mark of Viswasam in five days of theatrical run globally. The film directed by Atlee and produced by AGS will soon enter into the Rs 200 crore club and Vijay will become the first Tamil actor to score three consecutive double century grossers worldwide.
