Bigil Songs Review
AR Rahman spins in a fairly likable soundtrack!
Singapenney
Verithanam
Unakaga
Maathare
Bigil Bigil Bigiluma
Singapenney: Singers – AR Rahman, Shashaa Tirupati 👍
ARR is always bankable when it comes to anthems, and the same continues here as well when he hits us with the lovable beats and the enthralling rhythm, that obviously comes with the vocals of himself and Shashaa. This is an energetic, sweet-sounding track that immediately hopped onto our minds. A special mention to Vivek for his commendable work. Our PICK.
Verithanam: Singer – Thalapathy Vijay
A mass-centric kuthu number that is partly rhythmic and partly random. Thalapathy Vijay is the silver lining of the track, firing on all cylinders with his jovial rendition that takes the song two levels higher than what it actually is.
Unakaga: Singers – Madhura Dhara Talluri, Sreekanth Hariharan
A highly simplistic love duet from Rahman, with the female vocals being the biggest plus. It falls on the lines of his earlier hits such as Nenjukkula and Innum Konja Neram, being a likable number that could go higher in the coming days.
Maathare: Vithusayni, Akshara, Madhura Dhara Talluri, Chinmayi, Sireesha 👍
Once again, Rahman and Vivek prove that they can work out wonders if they continue to work on just such motivational/inspirational numbers. The idea of having different female vocals and balancing them out with the chorus is a masterstroke, and it elevates to better quarters in the latter half of the song. Our PICK.
Bigil Bigil Bigiluma: Instrumental
Right now, it’s just a mashup of different styles including trumpets, dhol and local kuthu that could turn up for an interesting dance sequence in the film. Let’s see how this goes!
Bigil scores well with its motivational numbers, which sit in line with the theme of the film. The other two songs are passable, but as the visuals arrive, they should fly higher. Though Rahman hasn’t put his best foot forward, this is a decent contribution that has sparks flying here and there. Bigil Songs Review by Siddarth Srinivas
