Beep Song: YouTube turns down request of cops

As reports that on nation-wide alert being issued for Simbu in airports are doing the rounds, it has been learnt that YouTube has turned down the request of cops to take off the controversial Beep Song from their website.

“YouTube asked us what were the exact words that were beeped out. It was difficult explaining, but we did. We also explained that the words, according to Tamil culture, were deeply hurting. In English, may be such words are casually used, and they may not be convinced about the gravity of the situation here. They have not responded to our two reminders,” says an investigating officer to TOI.  Cybercrime officials are yet to trace the IP address of the song’s uploader.

Madras High Court has already refused to grant anticipatory bail to Simbu and his plea will be heard again on January 4th. Both Simbu and Anirudh have been issued fresh summons by Coimbatore police to appear in person before January 5th.
