“Beep Song is definitely condemnable,” says Nadigar Sangam

South Indian Film Artistes Association has issued a statement condemning the infamous Beep Song after keeping mum for quite sometime now. “Between uncertainties on whether it was leaked or released officially, the song, composed by Anirudh and written and sung by Simbu, filled with intermittent beeps leaves a bad taste to the imagination of listeners and since it denigrates women, it is definitely condemnable,” says Nadigar Sangam.

“If a creator’s work elicits adverse reactions from the public, it is his duty to respect the feelings of people and seek an apology or explain his stand on the issue. We have been silent on this to give enough time to those involved to come up with a clarification,” Nadigar Sangam adds in its statement.
