Beast Songs Review
Another kickass album from Anirudh packed with hit numbers!
Arabic Kuthu
Jolly O Gymkhana
Beast Mode
Arabic Kuthu: Singers – Anirudh, Jonita Gandhi 👍
Anirudh picks up an Arabic beat that is instantly addictive, and he adorns it with superb synth changeovers, the quirky lyrics from Sivakarthikeyan and of course – the vocals of both Anirudh and Jonita. The song is something that you can’t say no to, and keeps getting better with repeated listens. Anirudh’s range is proven again in the interludes where he blooms a lot of solid diversions, which make the song better than what it actually would have been. Full marks to this one!
Jolly O Gymkhana: Singer – Thalapathy Vijay
This time, Anirudh hangs onto a sequel of Ullalaa, bringing in the holidaying mood with a baila-like beat. The awesomeness of the song completely belongs to Vijay, who takes it by the horns and delivers a cool and happy rendition. The song has some nice horns and jumps, which are its best bet. However, it does not achieve greatness due to the familiarity that it has within.
Beast Mode: Singer – Anirudh 👍
The theme track of the film which has been made familiar thanks to the trailer, this one’s an absolute rocker from Anirudh, who also croons the song. Vivek’s lyrics are carried out well and have been smartly written, and the song picks up a great pace and turns out to give in goosebumps at many points.
Despite having just three tracks, Beast is a kickass album that gives us lots to cheer for. There is no downright bad song in the album, and Anirudh continues to maintain the momentum that it bent on him. Another winner of a set that has rung big in the audience’s playlist, and will continue to do so after the film hits the screens as well. Beast Songs Review by Siddarth Srinivas
