Bangalore Naatkal Movie Preview

Whenever a superhit, proven Malayalam film gets remade in Tamil, it also comes with its own share of apprehensions and brickbats from the loyal fans of the original version. It happened for Bangalore Naatkal too when naysayers came up with prejudiced opinions about the film, which is an official remake of Anjali Menon-directed Bangalore Days. Though the casting of Bangalore Naatkal left few fans skeptical about the propects of remake during the initial stages, the anticipation for the film gradually grew with the colorfully packed teaser and trailer promos, which promise a feel-good entertainer from an all-star cast.

One thing I can assure you is that Bangalore Naatkal will be a feel good film. In fact, I initially had apprehensions, but my producers were confident and helpful, and believed in me so much — I was able to do exactly as I wished in Tamil, says director Baskar.

Produced by PVP Cinema and directed by Bommarilu Baskar, Bangalore Naatkal features Arya, Rana Daggubati, Parvathy, Sri Divya, Bobby Simha and Raai Laxmi in the lead roles. It also has Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who will appear in the flashback sequence in a brief cameo.

Baskar

The script of the original film was lively and great. I didn’t remake this film for its own sake, but trust me; all the actors had done a fabulous job. We had to figure out the theme of the film, in order to have the same effect that Bangalore Days did. We identified it as ‘change’.

In the lives of each of the main characters, there is so much change. I also thought that the idea of the main characters being cousins was interesting

Arya

We have put in our total effort for the film. I have done my role honestly and interpreted in it my own way. Hope the audiences like it

Sri Divya

It is an emotional feel-good film and the director has done justice to the original. The remake, I must admit, has come out in a totally new style and the film will be a complete entertaine

Parvathy

I have slightly long hair in Bangalore Natkal, and my glasses are different. Also, the texture of my outfits will be new. But Sarah’s characterisation is a unique one, and it has not been changed

The film is releasing worldwide on February 5th along with Vetrimaaran’s highly anticipated interrogative thriller Visaaranai and Prashanth’s comeback film Saagasam.
