Bala’s Thaarai Thappattai goes on floors in Thanjavur

Director Bala’s Thaarai Thappattai, which was under trial shoot for a long time to mentally prepare the characters, finally went on floors yesterday. The team is currently shooting in Thanjavur shooting some important scenes. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, who has toned down her body to play the role of a Karagaattam dancer in the film, took to her official social media page to share the excitement to act in Bala’s film. “And so the journey of #Thaaraithappatai begins… So excited to finally work with the legend himself..Bala sir…!!! It’s gonna be great,” posted Varu.

Sasikumar is reportedly essaying the role of a nadhaswaram player in the film and Airtel Supersinger Pragathi Guruprasad plays his sister. Studio 9 Productions Managing Director RK Suresh, who debuts as an actor, plays the antagonist in the movie. Thaarai Thappattai also marks Ilaiyaraja’s 1000th film in the industry.
