Honest, engaging effort!
C.Sathya, one of the most underrated composers in Tamil music scene, comes back to deliver another splendid album. With lovely tunes that glisten diversely, Asurakulam is an album worth checking out.

Anjezhuthilum: Singer – Haricharan
What a divine composition to start off things. Haricharan’s lovely rendition and the simple orchestration work so well together here. The heavy end is a bit of a leveller though.
Asurakulam Title Song: Singer – Rajeevan, Sathya Seelan
Typecast track which drills on a dubstep-cum-electronic base. No big takeaways.
AmbaneAmbane: Singers – Gowri Lakshmi, Yazin Nizar, Arjun Adapalli
In a minimalistic song like this, it is very important that the music doesn’t hinder the lyrical flow or the non-modulated vocals. Sathya makes sure that all the boxes are checked in this absolute beauty. Our PICK, right away.
Yedharku Penne: Singers – Santy Jude, Chinmayi, NS Kamatchi
A harmless medley which is reminiscent of some college jams. The cherubic vocals and the use of the guitar make it worth your time.
Polladhava: Singer – Thambi Ramaiah
Quite a good idea to make ThambiRamaih croon a kuthu song, which has the infusion of a catchy female hook to make it work.
Mayako: Singer – Alphonse Joseph
A chilling high-point and Alphonse’s unique rendition makes this click. Another PICK.
Oru Vetha: Singer – Sathya
A short pathos track which doesn’t do much to impress. Passable!
