After venturing into production with co-producing ‘Boss Engira Bhaskaran’, actor Arya has next turned distributor. The ‘Avan Ivan’ star has acquired the FMS (Singapore and Malaysia) distribution rights of his much awaited flick, ‘Irandam Ulagam’, produced by his home banner, ‘The Show People’.
A magnum opus by director Selvaraghavan, the film has Arya and Anushka in dual roles and is slated for a November 22 release.
PVP Cinemas, the makers, are doubly happy as the bilingual, ‘Irandam Ulagam’ in Tamil, and ‘Varna’ in Telugu, received a clean U certificate from the censors and is getting released simultaneously. Confirming the news, Arya said, “Irandam… is an international film. In Tamil Nadu, we know how a film fares with the exact figures soon after its release. But, in Malaysia and Singapore, it is very difficult to get the figures and its run status. So, unless one explores for oneself, one wouldn’t know the real potential of a film. My recent film, ‘Raja Rani’, did very well there. So, I thought of trying to distribute ‘Irandam Ulagam’ there.”
Adding further, he said, “IU is one of its kind, with high quality, never-seen-before visuals in Tamil, for that matter, Indian cinema. Audiences are expecting that kind of a film worldwide.”
