The Mozart of Madras has been fittingly honoured with yet another doctorate by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. This is Oscar-winning composer’s fifth Doctorate after Miami University conferred upon him his first American Honorary Doctorate in 2012. The respect that Rahman commands amidst the global audience is awe-inspiring. When it comes to awards, Kamal Haasan has often been called the “King.” As far as Doctorates are concerned, Rahman has actually outnumbered the veteran actor.
He posted on his official Facebook page with a picture “Humbled by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s honoriscausa Doctor of Music degree!” He also shared that his KM Music Conservatory is performing with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in Glasgow.
With his Highway album already rocking the charts, Rahmaniacs are extremely happy with this news. We wish him good luck for his upcoming releases including the magnum-opus Kochaidaiyaan, Shankar’s much awaited “Ai,” and Vasantha Balan’s historical Kaaviya Thalaivan.
