Anushka’s daredevil stunt without a body double

Anushka Shetty is one of the very few actresses who performs stunts in her films. And, she could well be the only actress down south who performs full-fledged stunts with conviction and without using a body double. Gunasekhar, director of Tamil-Telugu bi-lingual period drama Rudhramadevi, showers praise on Anushka Shetty for her unflinching commitment and sincerity towards her work.

“She has totally shot for 150 days. Out of these, over 60 days were spent in shooting a lot of risky stunt sequences. When we suggested using a body double for her, she said she wanted to try those stunts by herself. Recently, we shot a stunt scene in which she had to hang from a height of 150 feet and she did it without throwing a fuss,” says Gunasekhar.
