Anirudh renders a folk number for Sivakarthikeyan’s Kanaa

Music director Dhibu Ninan Thomas has shared his experience of recording a folk song with Anirudh for the film ‘Kanaa’.

“We recorded the song at midnight at Anirudh’s studio that had an informal setup. It was so easy to work with him. All through the session, we could feel the positive and cool vibes, which made the song come out well,” says Dhibu, who has composed a new dimensional folk number for the Aishwarya Rajesh starrer directed by Arunraja Kamaraj.

“We have tried something on a new panache with the folk genre. Usually, the instruments like Piano and strings would have more emphasis in melodic romantic numbers, but we have utilized it for a folk number that comes blended with our traditional assets of Thavil and Nathaswaram,” opines Dhibu.

Kanaa marks the debut of Sivakarthikeyan as a producer with his newly launched production studio –Sivakarthikeyan Productions. The film featuring Aishwarya Rajesh and Sathyaraj in lead roles has geared up for its audio launch to be held in grandeur on August 23.

While Sivakarthikeyan had recently announced of having three most adorable pillars of his career – Filmmaker Pandiraj, Anirudh and D Imman to launch the film’s audio, Smriti Mandhana – Indian Women’s Cricket Team Captain will be the guest of honor for this occasion and she will be launching the audio. Kanaa is not a biopic but a fictional drama on an aspiring girl’s dream run to make it bigger as a woman cricketer.
