Dhanush’s production Amma Kanakku is gearing up for release on June 17th along with GVP’s Enakku Innoru Per Irukku and Sundar C’s Muthina Kathirikka. The movie is an official remake of Hindi film Nil Battey Sannata and features Amala Paul, yesteryear actress Revathi and Samuthirakani in important roles. It is directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, who also helmed Nil Battey Sannata.
Speaking at the press meet yesterday, Dhanush said, “Amma Kanakku has an important message for the society. The academic pressure experienced by children and how parents should understand the ambitions of their children are dealt in this film. I should thank Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari for making this important film. She’s given a terrific film and I’m very proud of this movie already.”
“This will be Amala Paul’s career-best performance. I’m not sure if she will outperform herself in her future projects, but I’m pretty sure that she has never done a role like this. She will take home all awards next year for her performance,” added Dhanush.
