Amitabh Bachchan and Ilaiyaraja to render National Anthem
Come Jan26, Indians will listen to a new, classical version of the National Anthem – Jana Gana Mana, composed by Maestro Ilaiyaraja and sung by the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. The song video will be shot by PC Sreeram. “It is so funny that the greatest musician, the greatest actor and the greatest cinematographer of the country have not collaborated on the greatest song in the country -Jana Gana Mana. I just thought we should do it,” says Balki who successfully initiated this campaign.
“The National Anthem will remain the same. Only the orchestration and arrangements will change. When legends like these perform our anthem, they will do it in a proper, traditional, formal way . It will be purely classical. It will inspire people,” adds Balki.
