Amala Paul opts out of Ponniyin Selvan?

The grapevine in Kollywood is abuzz with reports that Amala Paul, who was roped in for one of the pivotal roles in Ponniyin Selvan, has opted out of the film. An official confirmation is awaited from the team in this regard.

It must be noted that nothing has been made official on Ponniyin Selvan yet, although actors who are said to be part of the project have been confirming their participation in the Mani Ratnam directorial to various media interactions. Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Keerthy Suresh play the lead roles in the film, which is expected to go on floors from December second week.
