“Amala Paul is not listening to anyone,” AL Azhagappan on the split

Veteran producer AL Azhagappan has confirmed that Vijay and Amala Paul are heading for a divorce by mutual consent. “The news that they are going to part ways is true, but the legal procedure is pending. She keeps signing films and Vijay is not happy with it. Before marriage, she said she won’t sign new projects. Then, she acted with Suriya in Pasanga 2, signed Amma Kanakku and is now on board for Dhanush’s Vada Chennai. So we thought it’s best to separate on mutual terms,” he said.

“Even her parents had advised her. But, she is not listening to anyone. My son is a creator, he shouldn’t undergo any mental torture,” added Azhagappan. Vijay is currently busy with the post production of his tri-lingual horror thriller Devi(L), starring Prabhudeva and Tamannah in the lead roles and is expected to initiate legal proceedings for divorce post release.
